Haul # 1: My First Ever

For the past month, more or less, I have been obsessing about makeup. It was so bad I ordered makeup from an online store worth P(secret). Basta, not like how much a normal person would spend his or her money. I took all the money from my coop account and that’s the money I used to buy all those stuff online. But since my orders have not arrived yet, frustratingly, I got impatient and ended up buying a “few” stuff. Some of the things here were bought on January but mostly during my fieldtrip in Manila. I’ll post a table below for reference on the mass of the products, shades, prices and places of purchase. Just a heads up, all these I bought just recently therefore I haven’t tried them long enough to actually give an accurate review so I’ll just give my first impressions and little thoughts (Little thoughts? WTH?). So here it goes.

The first ever makeup I bought for myself was the Ever Bilena Advance BB Cream Anti-wrinkle and the Advance Perfect Eye Concealer Smooth Formula.

I bought them at the Robinsons Supermarket here in Tacloban for fair prices. What I hated was the way the sales attendants handled me as a customer. They were just chitchatting and paid little attention and I got pissed off. Packaging, hmm, I don’t like it very much. I’m not a fan of pink especially baby pink and the whole thing just looks cheap especially the concealer. I’ve actually used both twice and I didn’t like them probably because I picked the wrong shades. The BB cream was too light for the rest of my skin and I felt like the concealer did not really work.
I also bought their eyeliner which sucks. It was very hard to apply. The eyelids are sensitive and with that eyeliner, I found myself being too harsh on my application plus I didn’t even get the results I wanted. However, for the price, it was okay because it wasn’t that expensive. Maybe it will work as an eyebrow pencil. I’ll have to see.

Next, I bought the All-in-one BB Cream and All-in-one Concealer, both from The Body Shop at their store in Robinsons Place still in Tacloban. If there’s one thing I can say, it would be that they’re expensive (for a person like me).

The packaging is very nice and has a classy look to it which I love. However, it was very hard to take pictures of them because of reflection. I’ve actually been using both for about a week and I personally love them. The BB cream makes my face look smooth although it has a light coverage. What I didn’t like is how my face looks so much lighter, not cakey, just lighter because of the soap I am using. My face is too light for the rest of my skin now so when I apply the BB cream, it becomes a little too obvious. Still, for natural coverage, I’d give both my two thumbs up.
Then I bought the Maybelline New York Clear Smooth 8-in-1 skin transformer BB Cream with SPF 26. I’ve tried it twice, I like it, don’t love it. It gives a matte finish and it dries out quickly when I apply it so I have to be very quick. The shade I chose was a match but if I were to choose between this or the one from TBS, I’d choose the latter.

Before my fieldtrip, I also bought the Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen. This is the product I regret buying the most because first, it was too expensive and they didn’t even have testers, and second because I bought it without researching first. After buying it, I saw a couple of Youtubers expressing their hate for the product. HAHA. It really sucks. It’s hard to apply, it doesn’t last long and I’d have to go over a couple of times before (barely) getting to my desired color which actually didn’t happen. Basta it sucks. I wouldn't recommend this.
So then I was so frustrated and disappointed about the eyeliner that I knew I had to get a good one. My friend said the Nichido Professional Grade Eyeliner Pen was good so I went and bought it. To my surprise, it was. It was very black and it lasted long. I’ve tried using it at my friend’s debut and I wasn’t disappointed.
Then I bought this lip gloss from Body Luxuries. I saw this at a boutique inside the same building of my gym and because it was fairly cheap, I decided to buy it. It was thick and moist but to be honest, I don’t’ really know what I’d think about the product. I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it. So those were the products I bought in Tacloban before my fieldtrip.
As I was scanning the different departments stores in different malls in Manila, I was able to see a lot of brands that I haven’t heard of and I also saw brands that were familiar like E.L.F., Wet n’ Wild, L.A. Colors, Revlon, L’Oreal, Shiseido, and a lot more. How and when I bought these products, long story. But anyway… The first one I bought was actually the BB Roll-on from Garnier.
I’ve heard quite good reviews about it so I decided to try it out. I did, once and it was okay but I still have to do an in depth analysis on that. Lol. Next I bought three products from BYS or Be Yourself. It was a very unfamiliar brand but what made me buy from the brand initially was the way it was showcased at the department store. The setup was very attractive and the packaging of the products was classy and expensive-looking. But what really surprised me was their pigmented eyeshadows and blushes. I love love LOVE their eyeshadows. I bought a palette with five colors, the Metallic-Natural Glam one I think and I love it. I also love their blusher. It’s sort of light when it’s swatched but when applied on my cheeks it’s wonderful. I can also use it as a bronzer, I guess. I also have their waterproof mascara which I have yet to try.

I also bought the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in 020 Lovesick/Passionnée. I haven’t tried it yet. I usually dry out when I use lip products. Hopefully this one turns out well.
For another lip balm, I bought a Chapstick Classic. I was planning to buy from Burt’s Bees but Rockwell was just too far from where I was that time and my boyfriend (Charles) and I were both sick so we had to go home early.
I also bought brushes and an eyelash curler. I bought the Ecotools 5-piece brush set at BelowSRP in Glorietta 5 and a Marionnaud pointed eye shadow brush. Then I bought the Marionnaud eyelash curler.

All these, I have yet to try out. Maybe I’ll do reviews on them if I get requests. So all in all, I was satisfied with what I bought. I now have a mini makeup collection which I store in a cheap small 5-layer drawer that Charles bought for me at SM. Awwe. HAHA. Until next time!

Ciao!
