Blabber: A Series of Unfortunate Events

I had this month all planned out but due to a series of unfortunate events, those plans did not exactly go the way I wanted them to. I wanted to just make a short paragraph explaining what happened in the past couple of days but I decided that I would dedicate one entire post for this because I figured that some people might not be interested with things that aren’t related to makeup or whatnots.

So, in the middle of the month, I accidentally destroyed my laptop. Do not ask me how or why. I didn’t completely break it but the impact was strong enough to put my hard disk drive (HDD) to sleep – FOREVER. So on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, I went home to San Julian (my hometown) to have my laptop fixed. I know someone there who would be willing to fix my laptop for free. The last time I had a problem with my laptop, he was the one who reformatted it and was still able to recover all my files. This time, he didn’t, or rather couldn’t.  He did however fix my laptop by replacing a new HDD which cost my pops Php 3,500. L I was then advised to bring my old HDD to a store in Tacloban just in case.

I first went to Joebz, a popular computer shop in the city. They tested my HDD but found no luck. “R.I.P.,” the woman from Joebz said. I went to Octagon, no luck either. Charles then suggested that we go to this guy named July who was their neighbor and whom he described as an “expert.” I confided. It took him longer than expected when we first went and there were some technical difficulties so I came back the next day and left my HDD there and came back the day after (If that even made sense). Unfortunately, he too, could not do anything. He tried ten times and failed. I felt defeated but I knew I had to move on. Just for one last try, I had my friend KC look at it but he also couldn’t do anything. I gave up and moved on.

I felt so devastated and frustrated because all my documents were in that HDD. Plus, I wasn’t able to make a backup for my recent pictures and videos. It was a sad week for me.
Lesson learned: ALWAYS KEEP A BACKUP OF YOUR FILES EVERYDAY, IF NOT, EVERY WEEK. I suggest you buy an external HDD. I have one and I’ve backed my files up even before I lost everything, but I wasn’t able to keep a backup of my most recent documents. If you’re asking, my external HDD is 1 terabyte which is equal to 1,000 gigabyte and it’s from Seagate. I don’t know how much it costs though.

And you think that’s all? HAHA. Just this Wednesday, I already planned on shooting for my next Thrift Finds. Charles was already at my house to help me out. I wore my makeup, clothes and the pair of scarpins I featured last month. We were ready to head downstairs and out but I missed a step and I fell down the stairs – HARD. Here are just a couple of pictures I took three days after the damage. Charles was traumatized and he was fixed on not continuing the shoot. Plus, my butt was sore so I couldn’t really do anything. I’m still in the recovery phase. HAHA.

I don't know if you can see the small red dot

I don't even know if they're called blisters and
the camera could really pick them up

This was the worst visible damage so far
apart from my bruises on my legs

So, I mentioned that my shoot was postponed, but I did plan on having it today. Sadly enough, there’s a storm out and I couldn’t shoot outside. Plus, I’m not really in the mood for anything right now. So I’ll have to take a rain check, literally, on that. The biggest downfall from this heavy rain is the crushing of our town fiesta. Today is supposed to be a day of paint, parade and pure fun but because of the rain, I’m not so sure. I didn’t have plans on going to the city but I did plan on going to the mall because I knew that there would only be a small crowd there if indeed the parade went on. Right now, I’m pretty sure that all the people flocked to that one safely-roofed and “air-conditioned park” called Robinsons.

Tomorrow would be the last day of June but I didn’t want to leave June without a post. So here it is! Plus a haul coming up. I also have a couple of series posts planned and I’m really excited about that. Maybe I’ll dedicate a post for that one too.

Thanks for reading!

Ciao!
