Haul # 3: APRIL 2013

This is gonna be just a really really short haul post. I only have TWO products to show. Why? I didn’t have enough cash to spend on makeup because I had to spend for gifts both for my friend because It was her debut, and for my boyfriend because it was our anniversary. I won’t tell you what I bought though. HA!

Okay, so onto my haul. First I have this skirt that I bought at a thrift store, a.k.a.Ukay-ukay in the Philippines. This was originally just a plain, shape-less and oversized skirt.

I bought this for just P80 which is a good buy for me. The funny thing is, the ring I bought last month was even a lot more expensive than this skirt plus the price I paid to have it repaired. And yes, I did have this repaired so it could match the blouse that I was wore at Althea’s debut which was the blue blouse I hauled about last time. I will update a picture of my outfit for that evening if I could find a good picture. Going back, I paid P60 to have this skirt repaired. By repair I mean, shortened, trimmed and I had it turned into a pencil skirt which turned out pretty good.
The next thing is a makeup product from tandandan, NYX! And it’s the Nyx Eyeshadow Base in Pearl White (ESB02).

Do I like the product? Yes. Do I like the online seller I bought this product from? HELLO NO. My order was supposed to be the White one (ESB01). It’s the matte one that doesn’t have freakin’ shimmer. I did ask about the availability of ESB01 and I assumed it was available because the seller wanted me to place an order. And you know what I got? The shimmery one. Ugh. I don’t want any more shimmery eyeshadows. I’d like to use my matte black shadow without shimmer. At first, I really did not want to buy anything last month just for the sake of buying something for my blog. But I did convince myself but only to limit my purchase to P500 including shipping fee. The product costs P360 at this online store in Facebook, NYX Cosmetics (Official Distributor in the Philippines). The only reasons why I bought this are, 1.) I really wanted a NYX base, 2.) It was the only store that I thought was selling the plain white one. If I had known that the ESB01 was not available, I would not have wasted my money on this product. Digital Traincase at that time had no stocks. And you know what? Days after, I saw the product I wanted at DT’s site and it was a lot cheaper than what I paid for! DAAANG! The base is only P300 at DT. Damn regret, indeed. Would I buy a NYX base? Yes. Would I buy it from that store? NO.

It looks like a white eyeshadow with shimmer. The quality is really good. In the picture, the colors on the left are the ones without the base and the colors on the right are the ones with the base. There really is a difference between the bare eyeshadow and the shadow that has a base underneath. It makes any shadow’s color really vibrant and more pigmented. I cannot however tell you anything about its staying power because I have not tested it enough. But as far as other bloggers are concerned, the NYX’s eyeshadow base makes the shadows really long-lasting.
That’s it for this month’s haul! Babawi ako this MAY!

Ciao!
