Project THREE

Forgive me for the shaky and pitchy song. It was so freakin' hard to sing and play it at the same time!

What is Project THREE?

When I'm making video editing projects, I usually name them with this syntax. I called this THREE because it's me and my boyfriend's third anniversary this April 29. If you haven't seen the first video I made for him for our first anniversary, click here. I have to be honest, I am, by no means, a good piano player. I wouldn't even call myself a piano player, lol. I basically just look for tutorials on the internet. Last time, I used sheets which took me one whole month to read and practice! This time, because I only had one week left, I did the shortcut and watched several videos on YouTube then integrated the parts that I felt were easy! Why didn't I just download a karaoke and record myself singing with it? Because I'd like to add a bit of extra effort for this special person.

On my Project Revival post, my boyfriend complained because he wasn't featured in it so now I'm dedicating an entire entry for him. If you're interested in knowing a tad bit more, keep reading. But if you're not one for sappy love stories, then just hit the exit button. Lol.

No storm can stop us

Obviously, I met Charles three years ago, in college. I didn't really notice him very much though we had several subjects together. Tetris on Facebook was very popular then and he would always play battles with me (even I find this part cheezy). Eventually we became closer and got to know each other more.

November 8, 2013, Super Typhoon Yolanda hit our city and almost entirely destroyed Charles' home. We offered his family shelter for several days in our house and that's how our families got to know each other more. A few days later, they had to go to Cebu to get help and medicines. Charles ended up finishing his last semester there. I was stuck in Tacloban City and had to wait a few more months before our classes start on January 2014. The students who cross-registered were able to finish their last year in college on time. I, on the other, had to patiently wait for Charles to come back. I didn't like the long distance relationship (LDR) but I had to accept the situation.

Sooner or later, things got better. He went back home, rebuilt their house, not completely though, and we both graduated! Before our big day, we each landed jobs with a humanitarian organization. We are really blessed to have survived the storm and still be together.

It really is true what older people say, "When you grow older, you'll have different priorities…" But despite the changes, I know Charles and I both want to take every step together toward achieving our goals.

It's comforting to know that you have a person whom you can share things with - food, joy and even sadness. We've had so many ups and downs but we made it to three!

Shaving is fun!

Charles, if you're reading this, thank you for being my bestfriend. I can never imagine life without you. Happy anniversary, I hope you like my not-so-surprise-video. I love you to bits! :*

My favorite photo of me and Charles

As you're reading this, I am probably at Boracay and showing this exact video as a surprise to my boyfriend.  More entries to come when I come back.

Chao!
