Haul # 5: JUNE 2013

I decided to make just a quick haul post for June. I hope that by the time I finished writing, it would still be June. Okay, so I’ve ordered these items last month I think, from a very popular online shop which I’ve also talked about in one of my posts. DigitalTraincase sells a lot of NYX products and I have been wanting to buy NYX products for the longest time. So without further ado, here are the products I’ve purchased. (Prices will be shown in the caption of each picture).

I want to explain why I wanted to buy NYX products so badly. A few months ago, I was in search for good eyeshadows since I now believe that I am a huge junkie in that category. I found that a lot of people say that NYX shadows are actually great dupes (duplicate) for MAC shadows. And I've heard a lot of good things about NYX. If you want more information, you can check out some videos about the brand and you can also check out their site here

Now before we get into the products, I’d also like to explain how they were packaged when they got to me. So the products came in an LBC bag and inside was another bag from XEND which is also a courier.

I think I paid P120 for shipping

The palette and base were inside a small box and were individually bubble wrapped. The pencil was also bubble wrapped. I like how secured the products were. Moving on to the products.

First off is the NYX Eyeshadow Base in 01 White. I’ve mentioned that I bought the Pearl base but I wanted a matte one so I went for this one. I can’t really say much about this because I haven’t used it enough to give an actual review, hopefully I will soon.

Next up is one of the most popular products from NYX: the Jumbo Pencil. I have Black Bean. I was surprised at how small it looked but I like the packaging actually. The thing is with these pencils, I’ve heard people complain about how they can’t sharpen them. I have yet to figure it out. As far as the quality goes, I give this one a 4-star. It’s so creamy and soft. I tried it on my eyes and it’s easy to blend. I just feel like there’s something wrong with it but I haven’t pinpointed that out. Haha. That’s me, trying to find a flaw in everything.

Last but almost least is the Neutral Palette also from NYX. I was so frustrated with this palette when I opened it. As you can see in the picture, the light shades, (which means all but one) can hardly be seen. Only the darkest color – the brown one – showed up. Even with the base, there just wasn’t any color payoff. I’m not sure if it’s my skin color or whatever. I almost hate this palette. The only color I really like is the brown one and I use it for creating definition on the crease. Unfortunately, I have no picture to show you guys. I’m a little bit disappointed with NYX right now.

NYX Natural Palette - P400 (Preorder Price)

The palette came in 5 frustrating colors and one dark matte brown which
was the only one that actually had good pigmentation.

Without base

Overall, I’m not very happy with this month’s buys. Plus, I wasn’t able to shoot for my Thrift Finds series due to A Series of Unfortunate Events. But what I do wanna mention is DigitalTraincase. They have good customer service. Although the products arrived late, it was due to the delay in transit from the supplier to their shop so they’re not to blame. I will probably buy more NYX products from them but I’ll have to wait until after August. You’ll see why! :D

Anyway, that’s it for now. June hasn’t been good this year. I hope the next few weeks will be better. If you guys have any questions, you can always ask. Leave a comment or question below or just click CONTACT on the Nav Bar. It's a new feature I've put in. ;)

Ciao!
